Our work

The work that gets us referred.

Every client here was sent to us by someone who’d worked with us. Most have stayed for years. This is some of what we built for them.

The Ward Cedar Log Homes home page: a cedar log home under “Custom Cedar Log Homes, Planned Around Your Life,” above the plan finder. The Pittsburgh Opera home page Lava built: Rigoletto’s jester under “Next on stage: Rigoletto,” with Buy Tickets, above cards for the 2026-27 season, Sip & Sing and Noteworthy. The MyMassRequest app’s home screen: “Hi, Catherine! Welcome to the MyMassRequest App” over a photo of a chalice, with Request a Mass, Enter Novena Intentions, Donate and My Profile buttons.

Seraphic Mass Association · Custom platform and native app

Thousands of Mass requests a day, and an app in every donor’s pocket.

A custom ecommerce platform on Kentico, integrated with a fulfillment system that had no API, and a native iOS and Android app tied to the same back end.

The Seraphic Mass Association home page at mymassrequest.org: a priest raising the chalice under “Give the Gift of the Holy Mass,” then “There is no greater gift.” and the novena cards. MyMassRequest app, Your Cart screen The MyMassRequest app’s Select a Card screen: a grid of Mass card designs, including the Madonna and Child, Christ with a lamb, and birthday cards.

Pittsburgh Opera · Website and CMS

A refresh, not a rebuild.

And a new CMS underneath.

Before

The previous Pittsburgh Opera home page, which Lava also built: an “It’s About Time” slider over News & Announcements and the February events calendar.

After

The Pittsburgh Opera home page Lava built: Rigoletto’s jester under “Next on stage: Rigoletto,” with Buy Tickets, above cards for the 2026-27 season, Sip & Sing and Noteworthy.

Decades of seasons, productions, and performances, organized so staff can add a season without a developer, moved from ExpressionEngine to WordPress on an accelerated timeline, and a conversational search assistant that answers in plain language.

Cronimet Terminals · Website

Part of the family, with a voice of its own.

A decade-old site, new corporate brand standards, and a security review coming. Rebuilt on WordPress, approved by Karlsruhe in three days.

The Cronimet Terminals home page Lava built: an aerial photo of the terminal on the Ohio River under the headline “Built to move anything,” with Our Services and Get in Touch buttons.

Ward Cedar Log Homes · Website and ecommerce

Since 2005.

A client for 21 years, and a site their own team runs.

Galleries, floor plans, lead forms, a store for maintenance products, and a conversational search assistant that answers in plain language, all managed in-house.

And there’s more. No two alike.

Nonprofits, a builder, an association, a voice science company.

Your project probably looks like one of these.
