Estill Voice International

Real-time voice analysis in a browser.

Estill Voice International trains singers, speakers, and teachers. They needed their voice science on a screen, running live, on whatever device a student has. Lava built the app.

The problem

Voice science, live, on any device.

Estill wanted a web application that could analyze a voice as it’s being used and show the result instantly: spectrograms, pitch, loudness, brightness. It had to work in a browser on any modern device, from a studio computer to a phone in a practice room, and it had to be sold as a subscription.

The difficulty was under the hood. Real-time audio analysis is heavy work, and it had to run consistently across hardware of every quality and in rooms with every kind of background noise.

What we did

Heavy analysis, running in a tab.

Spectrograms, pitch tracking, and guided training, built in React and Rust so it runs on any device without an install.

  1. 01A cross-platform web app with an interactive spectrogram and resonance plots that update as you sing or speak.
  2. 02Pitch detection and contour plotting, with loudness and brightness tracking.
  3. 03A training and assessment system with guided exercises and saved results for tracking progress.
  4. 04Subscription access with account management and tiers.
  5. 05A React front end paired with an audio analysis engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, so the heavy work runs fast in the browser.
  6. 06A Python API and PostgreSQL database behind it for exams and users.
The work

A voice, as it’s being used.

What changed

Launched, and open to subscribers.

Estill Voiceprint launched on August 21, 2026, and is available to subscribers. Voice analysis that used to need specialized software now runs from a link.

What made it hard

The lab and the practice room.

Turning theoretical audio models into real-time code that behaves the same on a good microphone and a bad one. Lava built noise resilience and normalization into the engine so the analysis holds up outside the lab.

Lava consistently provides exemplary programming and creative technical solutions for all of our complex projects at Estill Voice International. From our public-facing website, to our fully customized Trainer Certification Center, to our ambitious browser-based Estill Voiceprint software, their work has consistently exceeded expectations.”
